Terms of Service
Draft, not yet in effect
A short review by a lawyer comes before launch. Not legal advice.
These terms are between you and Elemodo Software LLC, which runs Solentric and Miranda, with Ryan and Scott. They apply when you claim a website we made for your business, use the Miranda app, or subscribe. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. The preview is free
We built your new website before we ever spoke to you, from what is on your business's public website and listing. Looking at it costs nothing and commits you to nothing. The preview is a private link that search engines are told to ignore. If you do not claim it, we take it down 60 days after we mail your card, or straight away if you ask us to stop at miranda.solentric.com/stop.
2. Claiming your website
To claim a website you must run the business it was made for, or be allowed to act for it, and be at least 18. You give us your name and an email address that is yours, and we confirm it with a code. We may call the business to check. Keep your email address current, since it is how you sign in, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
3. How your website is made
A computer drafts each design with an AI, from your own words and photos, and one of us reviews every design. A second check looks for anything your site does not back up. Even so, you know your business best: please read your new website before it goes live and tell us about anything wrong. Once you approve it to go live, you are responsible for what it says.
4. Changes
Ask for changes in the app, in your own words. Anything within the website you already have is included, as often as you need it. That means words, photos, hours, prices, menus, team members, colours within your look, adding, removing or reordering sections, and switching to another of our looks. We aim to have each change live within two business days.
If you send more than about ten change requests in a month, one of us will call you to talk it through. It is a conversation, not a charge.
Something your website does not do yet is an extra. An add-on we already offer, such as more than five pages, online booking, a blog or a second language, has a monthly price. Anything we have to build for you is custom work at $100 an hour. We quote it as a range of hours and bill the hours it actually took, never more than the top of the range. Nothing is added to your bill until you approve it in the app.
5. Going live and paying
- Your website is $99 a month, with hosting, security and changes included. There is no setup fee.
- You pay monthly in advance by card through Stripe. Extras you have approved are added to your next bill.
- Connecting a domain you already own is included. Registering a new domain for you is extra, and we tell you the price first.
- If we change our prices, we email you at least 30 days before your bill changes.
- Prices do not include any sales tax that applies.
6. Cancelling
Your plan is month to month. Cancel any time in the app. Your website stays live until the end of the month you have paid for, and we do not refund part months. Then it comes down.
Your own words and photos are always yours, and we send them to you whenever you ask. The website's files, a copy you can host anywhere, are yours free once you have paid for six months. Before that, you can take them by paying for the rest of the six months. We delete your account and website 90 days after your plan ends.
7. What is yours and what is ours
Your business's name, words, photos and logo stay yours. You let us use them to build, host and change your website while you are with us, and you confirm you have the right to use them, as they are already on your own site. The designs, templates and software that Miranda builds websites with are ours, and you may use them as part of your website while your plan is active.
8. Using Miranda fairly
Do not use your website or the app for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful, to infringe anyone's rights, or to send spam. Do not try to break into, overload or copy the service. We may take down content or close an account that does, and we will tell you why.
9. Keeping your website up
We work to keep your website fast, secure and online, and we keep backups. We cannot promise it will never be down, and sometimes we take it offline briefly for maintenance.
10. Limits on our responsibility
Miranda is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we email you before it takes effect. Using Miranda after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, you can cancel.
12. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States.
